A mid 19th century silver mounted Scottish Highland dirk,  31cm spearpoint blade with scalloped back edge and 2 fullers either side, the bottom 15cm double edged, (slight staining), ebony Turks knot design hilt with decorated silver mounts top and bottom the top mount set with a yellow citrine, contained in the original leather, black linen covered sheath (some loss, see photos) 4 unmarked silver mounts engraved with thistles, the top mount with the crest of the Wilson clan of a Demi-Lion and the motto in Latin, SEMPER VIGILANS (Always Watchful), and 2 silver links for attaching the dirk to a belt, the 2 center mounts contain the small Bi-Knife & Fork, both silver mounted and set with stones, the ebony handles carved en-suite, the knife blade stamped with a Sheffield makers name TURNER, overall 48cm    10014leo

Thomas Turner was a Sheffield cutler and the business was founded in 1825, Turner died in 1845 aged 61.
