This listing is for a lovely Sterling Silver 5-piece vanity set including a hand mirror, hair brush, hair receiver and nail buffer with matching tray. Each piece is decorated with an embossed border with an urn of flowers at each end with fancy cartouche with initial "B". The set is marked with the trademark stamp of Foster & Bailey who were in business from 1878-1898 and "Sterling". The nail buffer is also stamped "7057" and the brush is stamped "7051". The bristles of the brush are clean and secure although slightly out of shape on one side. The mirror is beveled and is also clean and free of scratches and fits tightly in the frame although there is shadowing to the silver backing under the mirror. The base of the hair receiver is American Brilliant cut glass with intaglio cut flower and flower swag. Set includes:

(1) Mirror - Measures 12 1/2" long, 5" wide and approximately 3/8" deep. Weighs 412 grams (including mirror).

(2) Hair Brush - Measures 9 3/4" long, 2 7/8" wide. Weighs 138 grams (including backing & bristles as shown).

Each piece of this nice set is in very good Estate condition, displays well, is functional but does reflect various degrees of normal wear as described. The natural brush bristles are slightly darkened and out of shape on one side and there is a very faint indention on the top, the mirror has shadowing below the mirror's surface and one faint indention on the top, there are a couple of faint indentions on the rounded edge of the silver and surface wear to the base of the glass base, there are numerous dents and dings on the sides of the nail buffer's silver cover and considerable wear on the leather cover of the wooden frame and minor rubbing to the bottom of the nail buffer's tray. There are also some faint and very minor tarnish spots on the silver tops of the mirror and brush mentioned only for accuracy. Please view all photos as this set is beautiful and all minor flaws are from normal wear as expected on items of this age.
