In February 1968, Charles Plymell printed the first issue of ZAP COMIX  for Crumb and Don Donahue, put his name on the back cover ("printed by Charles Plymell") and changed the history of comics and pop culture forever!

In February 2018, R. Crumb paid tribute to Charles Plymell by doing his portrait that you see here.

Charles is now 83 years old and Crumb added the following caption to the portrait to congratulate Charles on how great he looks: "Nope, Ain't Had No Botox..Nope..."
