Organic Greek dried black Corinthian currants raisins are derived from the dehydration of grapes and belong to the category of fruits, although they are often classified as nuts.

There are three main types: the common raisin (raisins - produced in countries such as the USA, Turkey, Chile, Australia, China etc.), the sultanas (sultanas, blond raisin - produced in countries such as Greece, Turkey , Iran, Uzbekistan, Australia, China etc.) and our own Corinthian (black) raisin whose cultivation is found in areas of the Northern and Western Peloponnese, as well as in Zakynthos.

'Black gold' '... this is how it used to be called in Greece and this not only because it was the number one export good, but also because the people of the time understood its beneficial properties by including it in their diet.
