Pair of Antique Wooden Shoe Molds with Removable top Piece - Length 10.5

Description

These are a piece of history. They are wooden shoe molds from the 1900’s. They are made of oak and were used by the cobbler to make custom handmade shoes. Leather was stretched over this mold and then attached to the bottom with nails. These molds come in different shapes and sizes.

The top piece of wood can be removed from the base piece to remove the mold form the finished shoe. These molds are 10.5 inches long.

These have a beautiful warm wood color and show signs of normal wear and tear given their age and use. There are some scratches and wood discoloration in various areas. It is usual to see nail or small pin holes on the bottom surface. Please see photos in large format to see details.

How ever you use them, enjoy. .

Did you know that prior to the civil war shoes were not made for the right or left side, but were made from one last that were worn on either side.
