Intricately hand cut Japanese katagamis from Kyoto. 
  We believe these and the others we have listed were from the early 1900's. 
   (There were newspapers from the 1930's amongst some of them.)

  
  These were samurai crests. (Aka "Mon") similar to the crests of European knights, they would have been used by families whose ancestors were samurai (a fact to be very proud of). 
  The clothing maker would have used these as a dye resist to put the families ancestral crest on their clothing. 
  Some of these are partials. These would be great for art projects
