I don’t have much info on this items, I just find it a beautiful work of folk art, probably Indian. The box measures 10” x 7” x 1.5”. There is light overall wear, in particular to the upper right hand corner of the front, If you like I could easily touch it up for you. I am an artist and I can take care of that for you. I have photographed the box on a piece of old woven fabric that has waves on it. I looks as if the wood is crooked, it is not it is an illusion created by by waves on the fabric that makes the wood that looks wavy. I don’t know if the woman is a deity, goddess or princess, but she is magnificent. There
is hardware built in in order to add a lock should you desire. There is a small remnant of a label on the back, which reads "Made in India, NIWORK FO 4737”, not much left. It originally had a coat of clear varnish that has mostly worn off. Should you desire I will put a new coat on for you, but you will need to wait a solid week for it to dry properly before shipping. I don’t like to alter antiques without the agreement of the buyer as is does alter the originality of the work. Please take a look at my other items as well.
