Prestige Pane ERROR Christian Heritage UEP19X  Whiter Reverse

"The Story of our Christian Heritage".

This booklet is the only source of the 10p stamp (U193/X886b valued by Gibbons at £14.00) that is a Type II (the so called "oval zero" issue).

The two 17p stamps U248c & U248d are also only found in this booklet.

Issued 4th September 1984.

From Prestige Booklet DX5. Pane number 3.

Third pane comprising one copy of the 10p stamp coloured orange-brown; one copy of the 13p stamp coloured pale chestnut. There are also seven copies of the 17p stamp coloured grey blue. Printed by Harrison in Photogravure. The paper is fluorescent coated paper (FCP).

Specialised catalogue (volume 4 part 1) pane number UEP19 containing one 10p stamp No. U193 (two bands). It also has one 13p stamp No. U219 (one side band left); one 17p stamp No. 248c (two phosphor bands, but with a short band bottom right); one 17p stamp No. 248d (two phosphor bands, but with a short band band top right). There are also five 17p stamps No. 248 (two phosphor bands).

The Reverse side is much whiter than on a normal pane. As the difference is not apparent from the front, the variety seems to be gum related. The difference under a long-wave ultraviolet lamp is VERY obvious.

Not catalogued by Gibbons............

Unmounted mint and in pristine condition.
