MARECHAL DE FRANCE – 1855 – AIMABLE JEAN-JACQUES PELISSIER

Date:  1858

Plate: #164 in “Historie de l’Armee” by A. Barbier – 1858 – Paris edition

Imp. de Prissette

Size:  6.5 x 9.75 - inches / with mat 9.75 x 12 - inches

This color wood engraving was a plate in the “Historie de l’Armee” book. The plate is hung at the top inside the mat. The mat and plate has foxing. There is a heavy protective artists board, that has a “Robert Raible – Stuttgart-Vaihingen” (art gallery?) sticker on the back. There is some paper tape around the edge of the backing.

Aimable Jean-Jacques Pelissier (1794 – 1864) – was the Marshall of France and ‘General in Chief’, of the French Army.

This is a nice engraving that I think you will be very happy to add to your Napoleon or French military collection.
