This inspected and authenticated 1743 Dutch East India Copper Duit Coin, which was often used in the American Colonial era, especially in and around New York (where it got the nickname the “1st New York Penny” is a rare find for any collector and numismatist.

On the Obverse of the coin there is the crowned coat of arms of Holland, where a roaring lion is in the coat of arms.

On the Reverse of the coin the Mintmark is up top between two dots, in the middle is a large VOC monogram, which stands for the name of the Dutch East India Companies in Dutch (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie) and at the bottom of the reserve the year "1743" is very clear.

The coin is made of 0.999 fineness copper and has a business strike type, being struck almost 300 years ago!
