Description The following listing is for an Antique Vintage German Hausser Composition Elastolin Animal Grey Rhino #6290.

Maker: Made in Germany. I looked through several catalogs and came up with Hausser #6290.

Marked: Unmarked. Material: Elastolin composition figures are made from sawdust, a glue such as casein, and clay (kaolin) molded on a wire armature and hand painted at the factory. The later animals with tails may have a pre-plastic material used. Features: The following listing is for an Antique Hausser German Elastolin Composite of Composition Animal of a Grey Rhino which is the largest Rhino they made. Painted all grey, (pinkish orange eyes with black pupils, pinkish orange nostrils and closed lined mouth. The Hausser Grey Rhino is nicely sculpted with very fine detail. Elastolin was created in 1912 by Otto and Max Hausser but later utilized by Lineol and other manufactures. If marked, it is often considered to be Lineol but uncertain of origin if unmarked. I have several listed but some are marked with Germany, two lines, Lineol and unmarked. Some I have found in catalogs - including a Hausser catelog.

Size: This item is approximately; 3.1 inches (7.9 cm) height by 6.9" (17.55 cm) length.

Age: 1912s-30s approximately.

Condition: Condition is subjective but item is used and wear is evident as seen in the photographs.  Horn top is missing. Minimal lifting, flaking paint. Cracking in elastolin. Chip on tip of ears. For an Elastolin. Condition is better than most.  f you could please look at the photographs and consider them as part of the description. Ask any questions regarding this item prior to purchase.
