In both symbol and reality the tree of life holds deep meaning and many lessons. The roots of the Celtic Tree of Life are deep in the darkness of the soil of Mother Earth. Its crown is in light, growing upwards toward the sun. As it is above, so it is below with half of its being in light and the other half in darkness, half in air and fire, and half in water and earth, half male and half female. Life is represented here in the Tree of Life as a whole that cannot be divided.
