Description of item
There are gorgeous stage photos. Among the Gidayu Kyogen "Yoshitsune Senbon Sakura", the gorgeous road of Mt. Yoshino. In the main stage, Shizuka Gozen and Tadanobu Fox, who hold the drum of Hatsune, withdraw from the innocent cherry blossoms and Hanamichi. Even at this time, the full audience is nailed to the stage, and even at this time, the actors hold their breath in places not shown in the photo, such as the abyss under the flower path, behind the scenes, and behind the opening curtain. There is a staff member who watches over our movements.
Kishin Shinoyama's camera chases people, things, and air that are hidden inside and outside the Kabuki-za, a hall of classical performing arts, that is invisible to the general public. The navigator is Tamasaburo Bando, the most popular female onnagata of the time. I was surprised, impressed, and a little moistened by the essence of Kabuki-za, which was selected by the lens and the naked eye, of the two people who have been together for 30 years. It's a masterpiece of photo books
The stage photographs of Tamasaburo and Kankuro are so beautiful that you can sigh, but what really impresses you is the part that you can't usually see. The dull wall of the title Shimogakuya on the 3rd floor, the quiet eyes of the sound in the bamboo blinds, the young people who practice dragonflies (somersaults) with a single lower belt, and the horribly old staff bath. As you read through it like that, even if you look at the pictures of the lively stage, you will notice the darkness in the corners of the frame. There is a word "reading between lines", but there is definitely a rich word hidden in the "line spacing" in the Kabuki-za theater in Sasayama

About the author
[Kishin Shinoyama]
Born in Tokyo in 1940, he is a photographer. When he was in elementary and junior high school, his mother, who loves acting, took him to Kabuki-za and Meiji-za to see Kabuki and Shinpa. Those vivid stage images that he saw in his sensitive boyhood are strongly memorable, but they have not become a way of life that reflects in his life. His decisive reunion with Kabuki was due to his encounter with Tamasaburo 70 years ago and 30 years ago. In a photo interview of the Kabuki special feature of the magazine "Art Life", I saw Tamasaburo who plays the white sewn princess of "Chinsetsu Yumihari" by Yukio Mishima, and after being fascinated by the mysterious light beam, I started dating for more than 30 years. In 1972, he published his first photo book "Onnagata Tamasaburo" (Kodansha) and received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Newcomer Award for the exhibition of the same name. After that, "Tamasaburo Bando" (Kodansha) in 1978, "Tamasaburo Bando / Winter Trip" (Kodansha) in 1981, "Tamasaburo String Education" (Mazda) in 1984, and "The World of Tamasaburo Bando" in 1988 (Mazda). Asahi Shimbun) and continued to publish the works he had taken as a photo book. This photobook is the very first epoch-making photobook recorded with a large 8x10 camera under the guidance of Tamasaburo, who has a special feeling and attachment to Kabuki-za
