This is an authentic First World War British army pair of binoculars dating to 1918. It was produced by A. Kershaw & Son Ltd in Leeds and comes with a genuine leather case. The binoculars are the No. 3 MK II model and were used to view enemy positions, locate landmarks and to help sight or perhaps direct artillery for small arms fire at a hostile target.

The binoculars have two British army arrow symbols which would have shown that they were property of the British military. The binoculars are in good working order, although the right lens cannot be adjusted correctly and is lightly faulty. The left lens works fine.

Regarding wear and tear, the leather case has some marks and scratches, some of the seems have been lost on the back and it appears that the straps have been lost. The binoculars have some markings but are mostly in fine condition apart from the right lens as mentioned above. Overall, considering the age, these binoculars are in good condition and - to an extent - still function well.
