This antique folk art hand hooked rug features a delightful scene of a Scottish Terrier dog pulling a cart with a Scottie pup inside, both accented with charming red bows. One of my favorite features is the action lines by their tails indicating that each Scotty is wagging his tail.   The colors are still nice and vibrant, not washed out.  The background color is a warm tan color as shown best in the first three photos. The gallery photo is taken on a grey floor so you can see the difference in tone.  The photos taken near outside light make the rug appear lighter than it is.  Its a very pretty color combination with the black, green, red and tan.

Size:  approximately 34" by 21"

Condition:  Overall condition is very good for its age. It is not perfect as most antique/vintage items rarely are.   As mentioned above, colors are still bright.  The back of the rug is missing some of its edge binding at the top.  There is one small stain above Scottie puppy's nose up by the green border.  Right side has two loose loops that need to be tacked down, and the foot on the mama Scottie has a tuft of loop sticking up as well. If you look at the close up of the Scottie in the cart, you can see a hint of red dye bleed.  Its very faint, and does not detract in the least.   No evil smells, no holes.  Be sure to see all the photos and use the enlarging feature for best idea of condition.

Truly a beautiful example of an older hooked rug that has not been abused by time.
