Steffie Kruass was an Austrian born woman who married in 1937 to Franz Lurch. They moved to the United States and both had prolific art careers. Steffie 's style, as in the above picture, is from the post war era, late 1940's to 1950's. She turned to illustration with, her well known "Heidi"

Here at Funky Vingetiques, I like to feature early Americana women illustrators. They were the true pioneers in the aesthetic that we've all come to know and love that is associated with children's books.

Above is a vintage Steffie, featuring a girl sitting on a green bench with a red braided carpet, concentrating on putting on her boots. The quality and color of the picture still pops. Original framing. Please refer to all photos for sizing and condition. No foxing to the matte paper. 15" x 13"

This girl is being sold individually, but it is part of a set. See the last two pictures, the boy is a separate listing. Combined shipping is available at checkout if you wish to purchase both.

All items are pre-owned and sold as in condition.
