Application:

  • Lead-acid and nickel-cadium cells of less than 250 Ah capacity.
  • Tests on most battery systems require the standard clamp-on current sensor (CT) with a 2-in. opening. An optional current sensor (CT) with a 0.5-in. opening may be available online.
    Maximum total voltage at MBITE current source connections is 250 V DC (largery battery systems can be sectioned to accomodate this specification).

    • Description:
    The BITE Battery Impedance Tester is a lightweight, compact tester that incorporates advanced design and capability for the increasingly accepted and practical technology of battery impedance testing. In addition to measuring battery AC impedance and interconnection resistance, the BITE also measures individual DC terminal voltages.

    The BITE measures impedance values and DC voltage for all lead-acid and nickel-cadmium cells up to a capacityof 250 Ah and greater depending onsite conditions. Specific system environments maypermit testing of larger Ah cells. This information lets the operator determine cell replacement criteria based on Impedance trends. The BITE also identifies weak cells in a battery string and pinpoints unsatisfactory intercell and/or interior connection conditions.
