This is the story of a doll family that lives in their own doll house, from the dolls' perspective.

Approximately 8" x 7"

What a treasure this book is! I've never read one from quite this perspective. Big Susan is generally considered a Christmas Story, inspired by the author's love of the Holiday Season. Every year at Christmas, the doll family belonging to Susan, come to life and there is magic beyond imagination!

This is the First Edition. the novel was out of print for several years until the recent 55th anniversary edition came out in 2002, three years before the author passed away.

Elizabeth Orton Jones (June, 1910 - May, 2005) was an American Illustrator and Writer of children's books. She won the Caldecott Medal for her picture book illustration of "Children's Prayers" in 1945. According to Good Reads, her most popular book is Grimm's Fairy Tales.

The condition is certainly vintage, in that the spine and edges are frayed. But it is certainly in-tact and all as is should be. The only mark is the former owner's name printed carefully in the corner of the front cover.
