1854 $100 The Farmers & Merchants Bank of Memphis note from Memphis, Tennessee.

This bank operated from 1835 until it failed in 1847. It was revived in 1854 but failed shortly after. This bank also had a branch in Bolivar! 

This note features a portrait of Washington flanked by Prosperity and Liberty. On the left is a Vignette of a dog guarding a strongbox, representing Fidelity that includes a reclining Cherub holding a Cadaceus. On the right end is a large steamship. 

This note grades Crisp Uncirculated.
