Very detailed antique Chinese peach nut which has been hand carved with extrodinary detail.   Known as Hediao, fruit or nut pit carving is a folk art which became popular in China in the Qing Dynasty 1644-1911.  Pits of peach, coquilla, apricot, olives and others are sculpted to create miniature designs of the Buddha, natural subjects etc. to repel evil spirits and to signift good luck to the wearer.  This piece measures 2.75cm tall and is sold in very good condition, especially for its age.
