Vintage Russ Good Luck Troll Doll With Light Pink Hair

Troll dolls first achieved popularity in the 1960's  after Thomas Dam, a Danish wood carver and fisherman, developed a carved wooden version to cheer up his daughter. Not only Troll-esque in nature, they had  distinct baby-like features with a wildly swept up shock of hair often in bright colors. After being introduced to  the mass market, they were constructed of rubber with synthetic hair.

In the United States during the 1990's, the dolls experienced a resurgence in popularity and were licensed under the name of "Russ" or "Russ Troll Dolls" by the company 'Russ Berrie and Company Ltd'.

In Scandinavia, trolls are considered Good Luck Guardians of the Earth. The presence of Trolls often  indicates that gold or mineral treasure is buried nearby. This is why Trolls are considered to bring good fortune.

In good vintage condition with no obvious damage.
