This is an original press photo. Denver, Colorado: This bison, munching contentedly on hay at a Denver-area park, appears to be marked already for the butcher. Actually the lines, which indicate cuts of meat, were superimposed. But many of the shaggy beasts, which were virtually extinct at the turn of the century, will appear in the nation's meat markets next year. Sale of buffalo meat is on the rise as Americans find they can taste a bit of their heritage as the country nears its bicentennial.Photo measures 11 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 12-16-1975.
