1820-21 math exercise 'count' book of one James Thomson, made of hand wove paper with marbled cover and stitched binding. Contains pages of calligraphic doodles and hand-written mathematical expressions, formulas and equations centred around the affairs of privateer sailors, merchants and labourers in British and European currencies of the period.
