Description Christianity has the task of announcing, in word and deed, the beginning of liberation from the countless forms of slavery that dehumanise God's creation. The revelation of God in and through Jesus of Nazareth, crucified but risen, calls us to be all that we were created to be. The person who participates in God's love revealed in and through Jesus Christ becomes what they were created to be: the image of God, just as Jesus is the icon of God. The story of Jesus shows that this will cost nothing less than everything.
