Signed copy of "Leakey Africa" by Doctor Leakey, published around 1969. Also contains copy of letter about production of MGM documentary titled THE MAN HUNTERS from 1970.

Extremely rare handmade archive of early man anthropologist Dr. Louis Leakey's appearances in National Geographic between 1960-1966. Presumably Leakey compiled the articles himself, then self-published in red library buckram.

Gold print along the spine reads: "Dr. Leakey's Africa." Leakey inscribed the book to a friend, colleague or family member, his handwriting is hard to decipher but I am fairly certain the autograph is his. The book is oddly constructed, some pages are glued onto heavy cardstock. The book comprises around 140 pages of material pulled from National Geographic on Leakey's work and findings in the Olduvai Gorge, ending with two classic articles about his protege, the famed zoologist Dr. Jane Goodall. Book is holding up nicely, the binding is tight and all pages are clean and sharp, a very nice copy overall and probably one of a very few in existence
