Mr. Guyson tells them about the sunken Reiling Dredge and the enormous rock piles left behind in its quest for gold, a pine tree with a split trunk in the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve above town, a mysterious map hidden behind a wall of newspapers, and a gap under the windowsill of a local church. After a trip to his cabin near the ski slope on Peak 10, Mr. Guyson leaves the McPhearson siblings and Bennett two sets of numbers without explanation. Could the digits be tied to Mr. Guyson's quirky numbering system for the bookshelves at The Cucumber Gulch?
