A pair of teacups made by Living National Treasure Shoji Hamada, which were found when a prominent family in Gunma prefecture was cleaning up their warehouses.
Shoji Hamada's work does not have a ceramic seal, and it is very difficult to authenticate without a box, but this is definitely a work by Shoji Hamada, even though there is no certificate of authenticity.
Also, I heard from a potter who is familiar with Shoji Hamada's works in Mashiko that there are so called kiln items that Shoji Hamada only painted This is also the real thing , but this one was made by Shoji Hamada. There is a high possibility that he made it himself.
Photo 3 is the successful bid price at a certain auction of the same type, so I definitely think the price is not high.
