Vintage Bianchi 56cm Columbus SLX Steel Road Bike Frame & Fork I suspect from the mid to late 1980s. I acquired the frame set with a tall tale that this was a 1980s prototype team testing frame set, with the lack of Bianchi logos I had my doubts and needed to debunk speculation, but after deliberating and chatting with professionals the story was confirmed that this is a Bianchi of some sorts, Made of Columbus SLX Steel Tubing with Campagnolo Short Dropouts and Internal Cable routing. Columbus SLX tubing was used on Bianchi's top of the Line Bikes. Bike has the original chrome work and shows some of the original SLX tube printing ( interesting ). The bike was originally painted blue and red and NOT Celeste, the paint remnants can be seen inside, the frame paint must of been stripped as some point. The size is appears to be 56cm Center to Center. Actual Size: Seat tube 56cm Center to Center or 58cm Center to Seat Mast Top, The top tube is 56cm center to center, and the Head tube is 150mm tall. The Fork has 100mm Spacing and the Frame has 130mm Rear Spacing. The Only Stamping or serial number is 93 and 56. 56 makes sense for size, 93 Could be date but seems late, 130mm spacing probably testing 8 speed C Record testing or higher and 1993 is plausible. Anyways a cool Frame Set Used, Decent chrome a couple of rust spots, chrome is tough so not many scratches but a few, cool frame set with story that holds merit, You be the Judge.
