This is an original letter dated 1772, where Isaac Royall has signed a list of payments to Captain  Bennet Munro about costs to lease Royall's farm, Mount Hope, Bristol, Rhode Island. Several items paid for, blacksmithing, orchards. Signed on back of page by Isaac Royall. Document is 8x14, folds, minor paper loss, great watermark, overall fair condition.

Mount Hope Farm (also known as Gov. William Bradford House) is a historic estate on Metacom Avenue in Bristol, Rhode Island, United States.

Captain Bennet Munro was born on 1 October 1708 in Bristol, RI. He died on 25 September 1775 at the age of 66 in Bristol, RI. He lived on Mt. Hope Farm, was the second largest slave holder in Bristol, and had the military rank of Captain.

Isaac Royall Jr. (1719–1781) was the largest slaveholder in 18th-century Massachusetts. His wealth, primarily accrued through enslaved labor in Antigua, made possible the creation of Harvard Law School. Royall and his father owned 64 slaves on the family's estate in today's Medford, Massachusetts. The Isaac Royall House is now a museum and historic site.
