This is a competitive game in which players use character cards, which are cards of characters from "Final Fantasy VII Remake," to compete for materia with their opponents.
In this one-on-one or two-on-two type of game, players select four cards to use from among the 20 carded characters (or three cards for each player in a two-on-two game) and use them to collect materia.
Each character has different abilities, and players fight against their opponents by making full use of their character's abilities. By making good use of the characters' abilities, players can not only simply collect materia, but also enjoy the game strategically. Also, players can aim for a major upset by using special actions with powerful effects.
There are five types of materia, and the player who wins more materia than his or her opponent will be awarded the materia that belongs to him or her. The player (or team in the case of 2 vs. 2) with more materia than his or her opponent wins the game.
