Historical context: Sovinec is a castle in the village of the same name in the landscape of Nizke Jesenik about fourteen kilometers south of Rymarov.
Sovinec Castle was built between 1329–1332 on a rocky promontory.
It was later expanded in late Gothic and Renaissance style and rebuilt in early Baroque style (fortifications from 1632–1643).
It burned down in 1784 and 1945.
The castle has been protected as a cultural monument since 1963 (Wiki).
