This much sought after Survival Rescue Knife (SRK) is made of CPM-3V steel with an Orange colored handle - Mint, New In Box condition. A true beauty from Cold Steel, the SRK features a sleek satin finished, razor sharp, clip point blade and comes complete with a matching orange & black Secure-Ex Sheath (left or right hand carry adjustable).

CPM-3V Steel is a high toughness, wear-resistant tool steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. It is designed to provide maximum resistance to breakage and chipping in a high wear-resistance steel. It offers impact resistance greater than A2, D2, or Cru-Wear. The wear and toughness properties of CPM 3V make it an excellent alternative to shock-resistant steels such as S7 or A9, where they typically wear out too quickly, but where grades such as A2, or CruWear tend to fail by breaking or chipping. The blade, featuring a full hidden tang, is made of CPM-3V high carbon tool steel. The result is a beautiful plain edge, satin finished blade. The front of the blade is marked "SRK" and the back side is marked "COLD STEEL" with "CPM 3V TAIWAN".

The handle is made of checkered, shock absorbing, Kray-Ex (wrapped around a full hidden tang steel core) for a firm, comfortable grip. Kray-Ex is the trade name given to a number of high performance elastomers which offer many of the properties of natural rubber, such as high traction, but with increased resistance to heat, weathering, and chemicals.

The Secure-Ex sheath, featuring a removable, adjustable, easy-off buttoned belt loop attachment, is designed to provide strong resistance on the blade and guard to hold the knife very securely within the sheath, but still allows for a quick draw in self defense situations. Additionally, the sheath is designed for left or right hand carry options; just unscrew the belt loop attachment and re-attach for lefties ! Such a seemingly simple sheath has endless tie down possibilities with multiple eyelets and slots all around the edge. Secure-Ex (Kydex) is far more cut resistant than leather sheaths and won't rot, crack or warp when exposed to wet or harsh weather.

New ~ This knife is unused, never carried, stored away as a collectible, factory edge never re-sharpened, never used to cut anything ! Lets call it investment grade MINT !

All items only taken out of the original box to examine and to take these pictures.

Blade Edge & Knife Point are razor sharp ! No chips / dings to the blade edge, Markings are clear. Of Note, on both sides of the blade there is a thick coating of original factory applied grease (Please see pictures).

The Sheath is in Mint condition; in a completely closed sealed bag.

The box is Near-Mint condition.

The cardboard blade protector is creased (Please see pictures).

Overall, a b-e-a-utiful looking, purpose built, Cold Steel CPM-3V SRK in ready to use, razor sharp condition. A nice addition to any blade collection and it looks so Veeerry cool !

Of note, the knife will Not be shipped inside of the sheath; the knife and sheath will be packaged very carefully for shipment. The sheath is designed to provide strong resistance on the guard to hold the knife very securely within the sheath. For the Collector / Investor: overtime, pushing the knife into and removing from the sheath will cause wear to the guard (as it was designed to do). Additionally, a lot of Cold Steel sheaths (and, in general, sheaths from all major manufacturers), will scratch the blade when the knife is put into and taken out of the sheath. I highly recommend to Never put this knife in the sheath; this sheath will, most likely, scratch the finish on the blade. Again, this is for the Collector / Investor - and I feel it should be said once again. I believe if you put this knife into a sheath, from Cold Steel or other manufacturer - it will be scratched.
