Description This is a story of the early years of Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band, which has kept up its presence in the top prize list since it was formed in 1972. Today, the band draws players from far and near, and it is educationally second to none in teaching youngsters the skills required to venture through the various grades in the Pipe Band world. When the band started, there was no money, no rich sponsor, hardly any kit, only plenty of enthusiasm and energy. The first years saw the meteoric climb to gain Grade One status, under the tutorship of Robert Martin and Tom Brown. The band still enjoys this status, but has not yet cracked the number one spot, although has came second on several occasions. This book is not the whole story, just a part of it. Look up the website Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band and read the up to date situation.
