Casino Royale

Ian Fleming's first James Bond book printed by Jonathan Cape 1953.

This faithful reproduction dust jacket is for the first edition (and very early printings by Jonathan Cape in London, England) by John Anthony Miller at his graphic studio in Ventura, California. No book is included.

Artist Statement: This original dust jacket issued with the book was digitally scanned and restored by myself Your jacket will be trimmed and folded on the actual book (unless requested to be sent flat}, enclosed in a Mylar jacket protector. It has been printed with archival inks on acid-free 120GSM paper. The inks I use for these reproduction dust jackets will not fade over time and will last for well over one hundred years. Each of these jackets are printed by myself, one at a time. Sometimes there is a backlog of orders that may force a slight delay. I am geared for quality and not quantity as an artist. The materials I use are fairly expensive and the process of construction and printing are time-consuming as well.

I indicate on the jacket that it is not an original dust jacket, but a reproduction jacket, usually on the rear jacket folding panel.

If you wish for me to sign your jacket on the verso edge in pencil, I will do this as some purchasers have requested this.

Here are a few comments about my work pertaining to reproduction dust jackets:

"John's unique artistry was evident as soon as I saw The Great  Gatsby dust jacket.  Having seen scores of facsimile jackets,  John's work is in a completely different league.  The rich tonal   quality of the colors is breathtaking and the weight of the paper is  carefully considered.  He satisfied the needs of the most   demanding client, even during a personally trying time.  I look   forward to doing continued business with him in the future and give   him my highest recommendation."  Ryan Dohm, Profiles in History
