This incredible vintage sterling bracelet is by famed Taxco silversmith Hilario Lopez, and is a stunning example of Mexican silver styles in the 1970's.

It is a substantial statement piece at over 79.3 gms of sterling.

The hinge is tight and works perfectly.

The bracelet is an original design by Margot de Taxco.

Hilario Lopez was Margot's master silversmith.

Hilario Lopez worked under Margot de Taxco for many years, and is widely regarded as her most talented student.

As you can see, this incredible clamper-style bracelet wraps languidly around the wrist and comes to a by-pass design in the front.

The bracelet is characterized by a highly-dimensional overlapping-leaf pattern, no doubt a flowering succulent of the Southwest.

The design is rendered in a bold yet complex style, which has been made all the more dimensional by beautiful layer of rich oxidization.

We do not polish these pieces, but leave that to the collector.

So much of the appeal is retained in the aged-look of the patina.

There are several maker's marks stamped on the interior of the bracelet, the first of which reads "HL" and is followed by the Mexican "Eagle" mark which contains the number the number "3".

This mark is followed by others that reading "Sterling", "Mexico", "925" and finally, "Taxco".

This piece is an incredible example of Margot de Taxco's lasting impact on Mexican sterling silver.
