This is an original press photo. Los Angeles: James Doyle, 35-year-old president of a firm which supplies electronics for missile and space research, demonstrates in Los Angeles the electronic "ear" which has been surgically implanted in the skull of a 46-year-old woman. Today, Mrs. X who had been deaf from birth, can hear. Doyle holds a small transmitter, which resembles the earpiece of a telephone headset, and which is used to transmit signals to the electronic "ear" is shown here mounted in a plastic skull, in the same manner it is implanted in the skull of Mrs. X.Photo measures 8 x 10inches.
