This is a LOT of 5 early Kansas City Royals 1970 1971 1972 1973 1974 celebrating the early years of the Kansas City Royals!  n 1969 Seattle and Kansas City entered the American League, while  Seattle only lasted one year, the Kansas City Royals began a successful run. in the draft they took many familiar pitchers, Wally Bunker Roger Nelson and relief ace Moe Drawbosky of the Baltimore Orioles; Dick Drago Bill Butler and Jim Rooker from the world championship  Detroit Tigers. The squad included Lou Pinella who they acquired from the Pilots; Joe Foy from the Red Sox; Jackie Hernandez and Jerry Adair in the infield, Ellie Rodriguez catching, Pat Kelly, Bob Oliver, Mike Fiore many other familiar names. Many other familiar names joined the lineup, John Mayberry, Cookie Rojas, Freddie Patek, hall of famer George Brett in 1974, Amos Otis, Hal McRae, many other great players!
