This monitor powers on. The brightness controls and power switch work great. Not sure if it's normal but the screen while on (especially with the brightness turned up) is almost like looking at a strobe light. Hard to explain. Does not flicker on and off or anything. Maybe it's normal for these old monitors and maybe it's because it's not hooked up to a computer or anything.

The cord that connects to a computer is resty/corroded.
