History if you Care!!! I love to research what I sell.

This history is for information purposes only. It doesn't guarantee what I have discovered as factual and is only here for your entertainment, if you so wish to be entertained! The cover speaks for itself.

This cover came from Victor A Klinko, a Manufacturers Agent representing Shoe Manufacturers in New York City. He was born in 1896 and died in 1967. Tilton & Keeler, Inc were shoe manufacturers who were located on Franklin St in the Textile District in New York City. The building they were located in still stands today. I assume that Klinko supplied leather uppers to NY from Brazil. There is a Shoe and Leather trade magazine dated from April, 1925 that discusses this. Klinko also visited Pennsylvania in 1925 as well.  Ok, now why is this cover unique? Mail from Brazil was usually transported by ship in those days. Airmail wasn't so common and was expensive. This was the first opportunity that many had to send mail via airmail back then and via and airship which was highly coveted. This letter measures a gigantic 9 1/4"x 5". It is adorned with a Scott # SCL10 20,000 Reis Stamp (very desirable) and two Brasil Correio (Brazilian Post) stamps, one with 300 Reis and the other a 400 Reis. Now the 300 Reis stamp is one of a few variants that I found. It has a "Dot" located below the ornament in the lower right hand corner of the stamp. I identified it with a blue arrow. This was not found on the regular mass manufactured stamp. It's rarity is unknown and I could not place a value on it if any at all. What is rare is the actual cover. I couldn't find any covers for this leg of the trip in any of the typical internet sites. Cancellations/Franking a from Rio De Janeiro, Recife and Lakehurst are present.

It should be noted that because South America was added to the list of scheduled Graf Zeppelin routes, a mooring mast was built in Recife. It was redesigned a few years later and had an extendable boom which could accommodate a variety of airship sizes. It still stands today! One of the photos shows the Graf Zeppelin moored there in an early flight.

I guarantee that this cover is as described. If it should ever be proven not to be as described or authentic, then I will issue a refund to the original purchasers only. This guarantee is good for 6 months from the date of arrival. you will not get that guarantee from too many sellers.

Shipping-I will ship this via USPS Mail for $8.00. It will arrive safely packed in archival safe materials and best of all, easy to open!!! You won't have to obtain some industry strength scissors, razors blades or a chop saw!!!  I don't cover the rip seal with tape as well! I have spent more time opening some packages and envelopes than it's worth!! Please don't consider my shipping fee as I don't profit from shipping. This cover is much bigger than others and doesn't easily fit in a smaller envelope and I thought it was well worth it to mail it like this.

Yes, I will combine shipping-More flat items will be listed shortly.
