ITEM DESCRIPTION

This is an antique openwork - pierced silver plated bowl which I'm guessing is from India? or a similar place due to the Elephants and Tigers depicted on the repousse work.

It is a hexagonal shape with very a very intricate repousse type pattern down the sides depicting animals including a fish border, elephants, rabbits, antelopes, and tigers along with floral sprays and other foliage.

The 3 feet are really quite unusual to say the least.

Please see the close-up photos provided to really see the detailing.
The bowl is on three feet that have been made into the shapes of birds? standing with their wings out-stretched.

No maker's marks or metal marks from what I can see. I have said silver plated BUT it may be Asian silver, I honestly do not know.

Note... there is a very SMALL section of the top edge MISSING but to me that really does not matter with such an interesting little bowl. Far too nice to throw out and scrap.

Please see close-up photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.
Condition report: Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs and minor impact marks.
There is one area of damage on the top edge.
The silver plating is a little worn in some places showing the base metal underneath.

It measures approx. 90mm tall (3 and 1/2 inches) x 120mm (4 and 3/4 inches) in diameter at the top. It weighs approx. 175 grams.

My stock ref : #LVT/2324 in cabinet of silver items.

Postage policies:

International overseas buyers please read this first - I use Global Shipping Program - GSP to send items to you.
GSP sorts any paperwork etc. which enables items to get through customs much faster than other delivery company.

I am offering FREE postage to the GSP hub in the UK.
GSP then decide on the cost of shipping, sales tax, and possible other charges etc. - All this information can found on the listing BEFORE bidding or buying.
I have no control over the prices that GSP set.

Unfortunately GSP do open the packages they receive to check the contents and then re-wrap them for the forward journey to you. This has caused some issues in the past so please take my word that I personally wrap all items as best I can to survive the trip, but GSP sometimes do not take as much care as I do when re-wrapping.

The shipping time is usually very quick but as you can appreciate there may be delays for any number of reasons which are out of both mine and your control. Thank you.

I now offer FREE shipping - postage on the majority of my eBay items. You can also arrange to COLLECT your item from my actual antique shop if that is easier for you.

To see ALL my other 7000+ items for sale, please click on VISIT SHOP or see other items. Strangely, both options seem to only give a limited view of what I have to offer, so to see everything I have available, click on Shop by Category which will give you a much better view.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal sized Coke can (330ml).

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
