Salvatore Vasta, 3-year-old boy, awaits custody fate in court --- New York -- Plays During Battle For His Custody -- This three-year-old boy plays in corridor of Brooklyn's Supreme Court today while fight for his custody is waged inside courtroom between his foster parents and his natural mother. The mother, Mrs. Amelia Malave, who calls the boy Richard Guy Montemorra, and the foster parents, who call him Salvatore Vasta, both tearfully claimed possession of the child. Mrs. Concetta Vasta, 40, and her husband, John, have had the boy since four days after his birth in February 1957. The mother, who was 14 and unmarried at the time, claims child was snatched from lap as she sat in her father's car outside the hospital where the boy was born. Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 03-10-1960.
