"The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar is a three-engine, wide-body airliner developed by Lockheed in the early 1970s. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 215 tons, a range of 2,370 statute miles, and a speed of 552 mph. The L-1011 can seat 250 passengers, with 50 First and 200 Economy. The L-1011 was certified in 1972 and production continued until 1983. It has a quiet cabin and can carry up to 400 passengers. Eastern Airlines nicknamed the L-1011 the "Whisperliner" because of its quiet takeoffs and lack of noise in the passenger cabin."
