TAPANULI BATAK ETHNIC TRADITIONAL ANTIQUE CARVED WOOD HANDCRAFT STATUES FIGURINES A PAIR

A pair of vintage 18th century Tapanuli Batak ethnic carved wood Statues, each resembles male and female character
These are commonly referred as “Sigale-gale Statues” by Bataknese people in Tapanuli region-North Sumatera province-Indonesia

Each approximate dimension :

Male & Female :

- Height : approximately 86-CM (Max)
- Width : approximately 13-CM (Max)
- Thickness : approximately 12-CM (Max)

Condition :

-  Old, ageing and somehow each already rotten. These are Tapanuli-Batak-Indonesian traditional carved handcrafts from circa 18th century and have been staying in my great grandfather house at least since early 19th century.

- There are many chipped, damaged, defect and broken segments (see details on each attached portrait)

- These statues were used as ritualistic object of ancient Tapanuli religion Palbegu, therefore THESE MIGHT BE HAUNTED !!!

- This might sound very superstitious but I've warned you, buy these at your own risk !!!
