1962 Press Photo Singer Edith Piaf, Theo Sarapo surrounded by police in Paris

This is an original press photo. Singer Edith Piaf, 46, who stands only four feet, 10 inches tall, and her tousle-haired protege, Theo Sarapo, are protected by a police cordon after their marriage in Paris today almost started a riot. Sarapo was a hairdresser in Greece before Miss Piaf took him under her wing to promote his career as a singer. Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 10-9-1962.
