Historical context: Czechoslovak Communist Party was established in 1921 by the split of the left-wing faction of the Czecho-Slovak Social Democratic (Workers) Party (CSSD).
The founding convention was held on May 14-16, 1921 in Prague.
The congress itself (May 15 and 16) was preceded by a meeting of the CSSD executive committee and the election of the congress's presidency.
The convention was attended by 569 delegates representing around 350,000 left-wing social democrats.
The convention marked the creation of a communist party, but so far only ethnically Slovak, Czech and Ruthenian left-wing factions of the CSSD were part of it.
The unification of the German, Hungarian, Polish and Jewish communist parties took place only at the unification congress of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic in November 1921.
It was only then that the national communist party was formed.
At the time of its establishment in 1921 (during the 1st Czechoslovakia) it was one of the largest communist parties in the world (second largest after the USSR) in both absolute and relative numbers (Wiki).
