Vintage letterpress printing blocks featuring a Vladimir Bobri illustration of a man racing on penny-farthing with the initials ‘R W’. Bobri (Ukrainian, 1898-1986) was was an illustrator, writer, composer, educator, and guitar historian. A prolific and innovative graphic designer working in New York starting in the mid-1920s, in 1936 he also founded the New York Society of The Classic Guitar and was long serving editor & art director of it’s magazine, Guitar Review. This illustration is from an unidentified project. Artist signed in plate. A few images have been reversed for legibility.
