Danny Brown - Quaranta (Black Vinyl)

1LP BLACK Vinyl!

Detroit spitter Danny Brown is a fan favorite for a reason. Few MCs have wrapped pure lyrical ferocity in such a captivating personality. Danny's beats and rhymes are infamous, he always knew when to crank up the drama. At a time when hip-hop was splitting into countless directions, Brown seemed to have it all down to a science - with his groundbreaking album XXX, he spearheaded a movement of avant-garde internet hip-hop that we still live in the shadows of today. Since then, Brown has wowed ravers at European festivals, bridged rap royalty old and new (collabs from Earl Sweatshirt to Q-Tip), and been linked to electronic music's most prestigious underground labels. And yet, inexplicably, he remained himself, not even bothering to explain how he keeps his balance. QUARANTA finally begins to pull back the curtain, revealing the inner monologues of an artist who has amazed fans for over a decade. Written during the pandemic lockdowns of 2021, Brown's sixth studio album is autobiographical and personal in a way rarely heard before from the MC. "There wasn't much to do, so it was best for me," he says, "to incorporate everything I was going through into music."
