The album “Ancient Future” is a result of the collaboration between Phillip “Winta” James (Overstand Entertainment) and Indiggnation Collective and its mastermind Oje Ken Ollivierre, better known as Protoje. The record navigates through Jamaica's musical history and at the same time gives it new energy; the spirit of the 70s and 80s is revived here in the guise of a more modern sound - reggae for the here and now.
“Ancient Future” is a milestone for Protoje in many ways. Winta James helped him develop a sound that was tailor-made for his lyrical message. ChronIxx, Jesse Royal and Kabaka PyramId were there as guests.
