         EXCELLENT condition, with no defects to report.   As usual one edge is slightly uneven 

from being removed from the binding. 

       

This is an original hand-colored print - #439 - from the royal octavo first edition of John 

James Audubon's Birds of America, published 1840-1844. 


Lithographed, printed, and colored by J.T. Bowen, Philadelphia, 1840-44.


         The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of John 

James Audubon and features strictly hand-coloring.  


         The credits are in italicsas required. 


      Comes in a plastic protector, and will be sandwiched between wider foam boards for mailing.
