Rare 1880 patent Yale Clock Co - New Haven CT

Antique Mantle Coach Pendulum Brass Clock

Not working It needs the Pendulum wire repaired or replaced.

Measures approx. 3" Tall x 2 1/8" Wide x 1 1/2" Deep

Made in the USA released as The " GEM " Clock. Originally it had a Fine Nickel White coating

over 30 yrs ago while Metal detecting I found this 95% buried in Mud just 1 corner sticking out.

That same Day I Started working on it. I stripped, Cleaned, Repaired and polished it up

all done as best I could, esp the Dial face all to working condition with Many many hours put in this.

I like it and it did come up Very Nicely for an 1880 buried clock. Now 144 years Old

Awhile ago the Pendulum wire broke in half, it was running fast and broke on me trying to adjust the tiny nut,

it just sits here waiting for me to try and fix it I never do so it's up for Sale to be repaired or as is on Your display shelf

There is No Dial key (I used a pair of tweezers) Glass is chipped in lower left corner and 1 brass twist lock tab has broken off, pls see photos.

It Was White Nickel coated originally, this has been removed and polished up all by hand.

It Was working until the Pendulum wire broke. Sounded Excellent a Deep clock clock clock clock, not tic toc. the winder time spring is now 23 hrs was damaged at the end. I had to trim it down, resulting in a 23 hr Clock

If you like fiddling with small items then Fitting a new or repaired Pendulum wire back in isn't hard, just watch unscrewing screws, the front glass and the brass twist tabs.
